Should you have posed group photos for your wedding?

Dear Bride, What's with the hour long photo session after your ceremony? Grandpa, aunts, cousins, 2nd cousins, everyone's extended family and the list goes on and on. It sometimes takes two hours just to get these perfectly posed images. Leaving you with sore cheeks and a somewhat exhausted spirit.

Let's break this tradition.

Yeah, I said it. LET'S GET RID OF THIS.

This is a thing of the past. It is exhausting for everyone. There has to be a better way.

Here's my take... Let's take photos of your aunts, grandparents, cousins and extended family having FUN. Let's take photos of them being themselves.  Laughing, celebrating, hugging and dancing. Let's be real and authentic. Let's get rid of fake photos.

Honestly, isn't there something so special about hugging grandma after you say "I DO" and she's crying because she thought it was so special that her little granddaughter is getting married? Isn't it funny to see all of your grandparents lined up snapping a photo of their kids together? Don't you enjoy looking at photos of your guests enjoying your reception, in celebration of you?

I think some immediate family shots are so important. But I do think we need to start capturing real moments and letting go of posed photos. Food for thought.

Now, who is with me? ;)
