WHAT IS BETTER THAN A DAY AT HOME WITH YOUR LOVE?!
nothing to do. just cuddle, drink wine, play fetch with the cutest dog ever aaaaand repeat ❤️
stinkin' best couples photography session everrrr
A few words come to mind for this precious day, and one of those is "sweet". Everything about Tia and Cody's wedding was sweet. From Tia's smile in the morning getting ready (and she wore it all day long) to their first dance. These two have the sweetest love. Cody was smitten with his bride, and could not take his eyes off of her the entire day. The air was chilly, the fire was cozy and these sweethearts were more in love than ever before.
Don't be fooled y'all! This hike gave me some real side cramps. Katie and Vinnie take their hiking seriously, and apparently I don't. HA!
We had a great time hiking around Bear Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park! We had fun driving the windy roads together in between locations in the park. These guys made me laugh a lot and I can't say enough good things about them!
Mary and Kevin lost a family member this fall. It hurts to even type it out. Mary's sister in-law, Abby, had passed away in an accident. She was young--a mother of two, and a wife to an incredible man. Mary is wearing her sister Abby's red flannel shirt.
Mary and Kevin are kind, compassionate and beautiful people. See their love. Witness with me, the beautiful landscape God had created.
“When I think about our wedding day, all I can think is “the best day ever”. While we were surrounded by all of our family and friends, it felt like Blake and I were the only two people in the room. It’s like the world paused for a moment as we became one. The rest of the day was filled with moments just like that--perfect and beautiful.” -Melinda

FREAKING PUMPED ABOUT THIS 😭😍
I had Colt write out his proposal story so y'all can get all of the lovey-dovey, sweet-surprising vibes we got when this all went down.
"It was a plan that had been set in motion a few weeks in advance. We would be in Colorado with my sister-in-law who just so happens to be a wedding photographer, what are the odds right? So we went out on a morning hike on Friday to the Flatirons in Boulder, Colorado. After taking Clay and Rachel's pictures as a cover up, Rach asked if Em and I wanted some pictures together. My response was, 'Yeah!' but Em's was, 'Maybe later.' She hadn't been feeling well that morning so after anxiously walking barely five minutes, Rach offers again and Em begrudgingly accepts.
So at the foot of the mountain I got down on one knee as Rachel captured every sweet moment. Emily truly did not see it coming. Her first words when I went to one knee were, 'What are you doing?' But once she figured it out both of our eyes welled up with tears. I told her how much she meant to me and how I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. After asking for her hand in marriage she, without hesitation, said 'Yes!'. I've never seen so much joy in a person's eyes as I slid the ring onto her finger and the only day that will top it is the day we can finally say 'I Do'.
these two cuties invited me and my little family out to their lake home in eustis, nebraska on a late september weekend. needless to say we (Clay, I and the kids) traveled out to wide open country, so I could take their engagements. we loved seeing the rolling hills of rural nebraska. I just have to say thank you to weston and julia and your families for hosting us! YOU'RE THE BEST!
nothing is better than love and making relationships that last. honestly, that's all this "job" is about.
You may have seen a lot of these two lately. Incase you didn't know they took me on rad weekend trip to Arizona. We shot FOUR sessions. Basically, I documented who they are as a couple, wherever they were! It was pure bliss from a photographer's standpoint. Can't get enough these lovie-dovies? See their Horseshoe Bend shoot or their morning hike in Sedona.

I can't believe today has finally arrived. I have been waiting my whole life to see you walk down that aisle. Today is the day we get to start our life story together. I can't wait to share all the laughs, smiles, and good times that are ahead. You are my angel and the love of my life. I love you to bits and couldn't be more proud to be by your side.
Meeting up after coffee x breakfast burritos is my kind of morning //

It was mid-morning, where the light was still warm. But not too early, just right actually. This little mini session was the perfect amount of time. It was kind of fun, because we weren't entirely sure where we'd shoot at, because we were both traveling for this shoot. Tiana wanted photos next to these giant trees, and after hiking back behind a resort (and not the resort we stayed at, whoops), we found this little camping area!
You can't beat the views of horseshoe as well as the deep connection Jamie and Joe have for one another.
This day was truly blessed by God you guys. It was insane.
Joe helped his bride down different steep parts of the rock formations. He carried her through tall grass. He complimented her, loved her and showed her his deepest affections. We drove the highway from Sedona up to Page, AZ and as a thunderstorm was rolling in, we decided to pull off the highway and snap some photos. We snagged some pretty crazy light! Then back in the car for some more car time until we made it up North! Our drive in was insane (and honestly a little magical). We saw some wild horses galloping, red rock formations and beautiful, vast land.

"The weeks leading up to the wedding were filled with many deep emotions. I’m normally not very emotional, so experiencing that was a change for me. I had longed to marry my high school sweetheart for five years and I almost couldn’t believe that it was finally happening. Being so close to the day that I would commit my life to Leah brought such intense anticipation! I don’t normally cry, in sadness or in joy, but multiple times I found myself tearing up as I thought about how lucky I was to marry the woman of my dreams. One of the moments that I’ll never forget was taking communion together after we had said our vows to one another. The connection that I felt to Leah as we held one another and spent time in prayer through tears is indescribable. The graciousness of God to bring us together as husband and wife and to allow us to mirror what He has done for us will always be one of the greatest sources of joy for me as I look back on that day and as we continue our lives together. Most of the rest of the day was a blur, but it was moments like those that made all the stress of planning and all the years of waiting worth it. I always trusted that my wedding day would be one of the greatest days of my life and without question; it was!" -Reis
waking up at five in the morning to fresh air and a dark sky. we drove up a steep street that winded around the natural landscape.
after parking and rubbing our eyes to wake up a bit, we started our little morning adventure with red rock underfoot.
the sun rose over the enormous red rock formations. the cool morning air filled our lungs with life. this was our morning in sedona, arizona.
